We traveled to Red River, NM to meet Travis's family there for a vacation with them. We stayed in cabins along the river. It was nice and cozy place that was not crowded and you could pretty much walk everywhere you needed to go! It was very relaxing and plenty of activities to do!

All the kids climbed the mountain that was behind the cabin. Jaiden and Madi struggled a little, but the older kids helped them out!

We had to cross the river to get to the trail...the girls thought that was pretty fun!

On our last day, Travis and Damon went on trails in the mountains on the 4-wheelers, Alan and Tammi went on a ski lift up to the top of a mountain to feed the chipmunks and Ann, Myself, the girls, Savannah and Cody went on a horse back ride. They pick your horse for you and Jaiden and I got the fatest horse there and Ann and Madi got the tallest horse. Savannah and cody got normal horses. So as the horse's start to climb this narrow steep trail on the mountain....Ann's horse gets spooked and start's to buck around. Next thing I know...Madi's been thrown on the ground, the horse is still bucking, then Ann is thrown to the ground and within seconds the wranglers are there grabbing them both and I could see that Ann was bleeding. Apparently, the horse's hove came down on the back of her leg and sliced it open. Needless to say, pandamonium set in, because here are all of these adults and children stuck on these horses who won't stand still (b/c they are horses of course!) and we're stuck on a narrow path on the side of a mountain! So the horse's below us got to go back to the stables and the horse's above us were stuck just sitting there until we got Ann and Madi down the mountain on a Rhino (kind of like a 4-wheeler but bigger). Ann was taken to the hospital in Taos and Madi and I followed because once I got all the kids back to the cabin and started to get ahold of everyone else...we noticed that Madi and blood on her ear and she wasn't using her left arm. So I then took off to Taos too! Everything turned out all right for Madi, she just has a cut on her ear and some bruises. Ann has stitches of course and she has to go to the DR everyday for them to check for infection, but she should recover and just have a scar! They were very lucky!!!
